Contract Administration
All projects are controlled through a programme of meetings run by the job captain and the partner in charge. The most important of these are the technical meetings, which control the crossflow of information between the professionals, and the site meetings, which monitor the contractor’s progress and resolve problems which
may arise. The day-to-day administration of the project is handled the job captain and the project architect and their team. Site inspections are carried out by the job captain, often assisted by the practice’s clerk of works.
Research As new technologies and building materials are emerging and evolving constantly, Louis Karol are conscious of the need to keep abreast of these developments and as such have a comprehensive in-house technical library, as well as maintaining subscriptions to all leading South African and
international architectural and building journals.
Technology Louis Karol is a fully computerized practice. We have in excess of 80 workstations, of which over 65 are used in the design and drawing documentation process.
Louis Karol have adopted the Autodesk family of products which consists of AutoCAD 2007 (Full and LT), Architectural Desktop 2004 and Revit Series 9. For computer generated imagery, we use 3d Studio MAX with VRAY and our own 20
